Visitor & Community Borrowing


The library is open to the public during all hours of operation. Visitors are welcome.

Children under the age of 13 are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult.

Community borrowing card are issued to residents of Lumpkin County or those who teach in or own property in Lumpkin County. Present a current photo identification card to apply for a borrowing card.

Up to 3 books may be checked out per visit. DVDs and videos are not available for loan on community borrowing cards. See the Circulation & Access Services page for more information.

Information and research assistance is provided to visitors. Interlibrary loan requests however, are referred to the public library.

Visitors may use public computers after signing the agreement to abide by the appropriate use policy and with the understanding that NGCSU students have priority use of computers and other technology.

Use of the facility to conduct an ongoing business is prohibited.

Visitors must stop at the Welcome Center prior to visiting the library to request a parking permit and follow the attendant's directions for parking information.
