GIL Express


GIL Express

GIL Express allows students, faculty, and staff to search the holdings of all University System of Georgia (USG) libraries in a single catalog and request that books from any of those libraries be sent to the pickup library of your choice. For more information, see the GIL Express page.


How to request materials through GIL Express

  • Check the GIL@NGCSU catalog first. We may own the item(s) you need.
  • If not, check the GIL Universal Catalog
  • Locate the book you want
  • Select the 'GIL Express Request' link on the top banner and follow the on-screen directions.


Tips for Using GIL Express

  • You can request books online through the GIL Universal Catalog.
  • Average delivery time is 4 working days.
  • Notices of arrival are automatically sent to your NGCSU email account. You can also monitor your requests by going to Access My GIL Account and logging in.
  • Books can be kept 28 days and renewed twice, provided they are not overdue and have no outstanding requests.
  • Failure to return books carries a significant penalty.
  • Periodicals, articles, reference books, and non-circulating materials are not available through GIL Express.
  • The GIL Express service is available to currently enrolled students, faculty, and staff.
